stumblesmcgee 1 Posted May 26, 2015 Hello, I was just posting to get a personal insight into the sugery and the emotions prior. I am 5'6, 254lbs and June 15th is my surgery date, I have done some research on my own as well as the information the doctor provided, now after a few months of anticipation its time to realize its all going to drastically change. I am mentally prepared for this life changing surgery I am just emotionally feeling anxious, excited, scared, and everything at once! How did anyone prepare themselves emotionally for this roller coaster?
lauraellen80 855 Posted May 26, 2015 Hi, @@stumblesmcgee! We're having our surgeries on the same day! I'm on an emotional rollercoaster at this point, too. Doesn't help that I've just weaned myself off coffee--yesterday was my first day with absolutely no caffeine, and I almost murdered my husband because he helped me put new sheets on our bed and HE WASN'T DOING IT RIGHT!! ShrinkingPeach 1,291 Posted May 26, 2015 I am 11 days post-op and I read everything I could get my hands on. I researched the foods I would be eating after surgery and went ahead and cut out all the bad stuff. I researched what I could eat at each stage and prepared for them but noting things I could do to make it less boring and flavorful without adding calories. It was less of a shock than abruptly changing after surgery when I had so much more going on as well. I am currently in the soft food phase and its great! I had some nervous moments before surgery also but it has been amazing so far and I am excited for you both!! Good luck and see you on the loser's bench.
