Hi all! I'm 2 days post op yay! And back home this afternoon, it was a rough first day, so glad I'm on the other side now, and it's my first post in the post op forum :) My question is this, I have today and tomorrow left of Clear Liquids what brands, favors, different kinds of broths have you all used. I haven't been able to consume much but now that I'm home and off IV I don't want to get dehydrated. I'm sipping Water, but want to get some broth in, any input helps thanks!!

My favorite was Campbell's condensed chicken both, mixed with water. I didn't like Swanson's or beef. ????

The packets of broth that you mix with hot Water are very good. I have hormel brand.

The packets that my Doctor's office sold me were very tasteless....I used Campbell's. I still can not eat an entire can.

I am pre-op but am trying to test some things out(even though my taste buds may change after getting sleeved)...I have found this to be one of my favorites as far as pure liquids go and it has 15 grams of Protein per packet!

I used the Campbell's chicken and noodle and poured it all through a strainer. Basically any broth instead of cream or marinara based Soup with the chunky parts removed is fine. broth saved me..I was so sick of drinking stuff without salt, and the heat and salt of the broth, oh it was heaven.

My surgeon allowed the ProtiDiet creamy chicken and Tomato basil for the clear liquid stage and I really liked them.

you didn't have any problems with acid reflux with the tomato? I'm onto full liquids on Sunday and am apprehensive about acidic foods

Thanks so much everyone, this helps greatly!!

Good morning. My surgeon suggested Swanson carton broth. I purchased the flavor infused broths Tuscany chicken, Louisiana Cajun, Thai Ginger, Chinese Hot and Sour, Mexican Tortilla. I'm 8days post op and can tolerate each one. I dilute them to limit the sodium intake, and mix them for my own liking. This morning I used the Mexican tortilla to cool my grits in(2nd week diet). They taste like cheese grits. :) I hope this helps all that are tired of t g e beef and chicken broth.

No, I didn't. But, ask your team because not everyone would allow these until full liquids.

My NUT also suggested Pacific Foods bone broth because it has more Protein than regular broth nut since the ProtiDiet Soups worked for me I didn't try the Bone Broth.< /p>

Yeah I will be on full liquids tomorrow! Yay lol I have been doing the pacific organic bone broth low sodium but it is quite flavorless, maybe I'll try regular and cut it with a little Water. Thanks for all the input!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
