VENT: Caught off guard

The only "behemoth" attributes I would attribute to you are your heart, your character, and your infinite compassion. Don't let one misguided individual occupy your mind for even one more second.

Awwwww... shucks!

It's the low-value opinion of a spineless, faceless keyboard warrior..

Why pay it any heed at all?

Do they know you?

Is their opinion really worth such angst?

I'd say not...

We all make uneducated judgements on occasion.

This pelican just decided to put it in 'writing'...

Remember...

Just because you see it on the internet, doesn't make it true...

I remember one time at a old job ... Customer Service counter at a grocery store ... A customer wanted to cash a check that to me looked fake ... I denied it ... He started to argue with me ... so I paged the store manager to come and help out ... The store manager comes down and the customer says to him :

"the fat lady behind the counter wont cash my check!"

The store manager says: "Her weight has nothing to do with the fact she's not cashing your check. I'm not cashing it either... let me show you where the door is, sir."

That was one time I didn't mind being called fat. :)

Beautiful

Elegant

People like that make me such a better mother.... Seriously! My children were at the dentist today, jam packed office btw, not enough chairs for anyone so I let my children sit as I stood. In comes a man with his son and his mother (grandma I guess) so my son (14) stands and let's the lady sit in his chair. That one act of kindness I've taught my son, poured over to all the men (both young and old) in the office who all did the same as him and stood up for the ladies to have a seat. We as women need to raise our children to be kind and loving in this great big world of less personable people so that their future has some kind of hope. No need to worry about that persons rude comment, you may have been called a bohemeth but he's got an empty soul! Keep that head up, we don't need the crowns to fall ladies!!!!!

I feel like I just need to whine to people who will understand.

I usually do a good job of keeping my "Teflon shields" up, to deflect verbal crap that has no effect on me. If a patient at work is being difficult, I remind myself that they are upset and in pain, and it really has nothing to do with me personally.

Until yesterday. I was caught off-guard with my Teflon down. One of my staff pointed out a review on vitals.com of our office. The word that was used to describe me was "behemoth."

Behemoth. A large horrendous monster.

Ouch.

I'm so sorry for their ignorance!

Since you said patient I assume you are a physician or in the medical field somehow.

It's been my experience that patients try to make themselves feel better/ superior by putting down their physicians/nurses etc.

Patients have told my partner TO HER FACE "Gee Doc, looks like you have gained some weight since my last appointment" ????

So rude and uncalled for especially since she hasn't gained an ounce!

I have also had patients say "That's my Nurse, the fat one"

I always chalk it up to their own ignorance and keep moving but it does sting sometimes.

My partner is a perfect BMI and doesn't need to lose any weight and I of course will be having surgery soon. (Which is why I'm here! Lol)

But it's interesting how we both receive rude weight related comments...warranted or not

Ohhhh, I think you are all being to kind and civilized.

I have a mean streak right now because I am actually very hungry, that cowardly and hurtful "F@#$" needs a kick in the ass and hard!

If you have any clue as to who they are I will take it from there and make sure they think twice before trying to gouge at people from behind a wall. Trust me, any one who behaves like this tries to make everyone in their path miserable.

Ignorance doesn't even begin to sum up this ugly person. Oh, I am really peeved for you. That web sight should monitor what's posted.

Hopefully that loser will come in again see your accomplishments and be ashamed for the horrible comment. One can only hope.

I think this is where "what does not kill us only makes us stronger"…then we kick their ass!  ;)

Okay, got it out of my system

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
