STILL UNDECIDED ????????

Recommended Posts

I've been reading even asked a few I know personally that have had the surgery, but still I'm undecided. Mainly for the reason I'm afraid of the way I may look. I've seen many that look wonderful afterwards but as well many that look awful????not sure if those ones just didn't follow the post op directions as did what they pleased but it scares me. With that being said I did go ahead and schedule me an appt so I could ask any questions or concerns with a doctor(6/2) hope this help ease my mind????????

DO IT DO IT! It's so easy... I mean it's not like lying in bed eating cupcakes easy, but it's EASY. I highly recommend it. It has a 100% recommendation rate on RealSelf. I just got done on May 16.

TOTALLY do it, focus on your health more than your looks, though you will look great afterwards, but thing about everything you are going to be able to do….don't think twice!!!

I have no regrets. My food relationship has changed but that is a positive thing with no major emotional problems. I'm so glad I am on this new journey. Best of Luck with your personal decision.

I have no regrets but for me it wasnt and isn't easy. Everyone goes through this surgery differently. Don't get me wrong I am successful! I made and surpassed my goal in 6 months. I wouldn't change anything about the process I have been through. I am nine months out from surgery and I have to say it gets a little easier. Maybe what I want to say is it gets more "routine". Drink your fluids, get your Protein in, exercise and you to will succeed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
