Martene81 383 Posted May 22, 2015 Did anyone else have to use a DVT after surgery? I have to wear it 24/7 the first 3 days then whenever I'm sitting for 7 days after that.
sparksrn 65 Posted May 22, 2015 Yep, they want me to also, and I have zero risk for DVT other than the surgery. To me it will hinder me getting up and moving around which would be better than the machine!
Martene81 383 Posted May 23, 2015 Well glad I'm not the only one! I guess it's better than taking those blood thinner shots I don't think I'd be able to do those. When is your surgery?
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 23, 2015 DVT and pneumonia are two of the biggest risks for surgery. My surgeon requires the DVT machine and blood thinners for everyone (that I know of). We used the machine in the hospital and were given a rental unit to bring home.
