I had surgery 15 days ago and got a follow-up call from NUT office. I mentioned coming back to work on Monday (18th) and how tired I have felt. The verdict was I was not getting enough Water (fluids) and that could be the culprit. Has anyone else heard that?

@@smf8396 thanks for responding. I am just soooo tired. I get up early (3:30 am) and by lunchtime, 11am, I am ready for a powernap :D

when was your surgery? we are close it starting stats. I lost some weight before I started my journey and I didn't list that weight.

Dehydration and not getting in enough Protein. Are you meeting your Protein goals too? If your not already taking B12 or getting B12 injections you may want to add a weekly B12 sublingual tablet to your routine.

Just to chime in, are you on any blood pressure meds? I was on Lisinopril and kept taking it after surgery. Started checking my BP and it was incredibly low. I asked my normal doctor about it and he said just stop taking it. Energy levels came up quickly after that. But you still need to drink lots of Water.< /p>

@@BigViffer - I didn't think about that! I may check it over the weekend and see how I feel and maybe just take half of it since I am breaking it in half. That is my only prescribed med, and I am hoping to kiss that goodbye soon.

@@ShellMilliner I am doing a sublingual everyday. I am trying to take a second one later around 2 or so. I get up and take meds at 4am and I wait to take the Iron and B12 around 9 or so.

Yes, I was hospitalized for 4 days because I was dehydrated. I thought I was sipping enough Water, but I guess I was not! Just had my 3 week check-up and lost 20lbs Yea! I was told to try and get more Protein in and keep drinking water, water. So a hard lesson learned, bottom line water, water and more water!

@@Giggles34 - I don't want to hospitalized. I don't see my doctor until the 2nd (he is out of town next week) and I am hoping to be closer to -30lbs. what day was your surgery? here in Florida the humidity can wipe you out if you don't drink enough. I am getting better at sipping more often.

My surgery date was April 29. I was told I would start losing more weight once I get in the required amount of Protein and Water. Also, I have not been regular (if you know what I mean), but this is not due to having surgery. Good luck at your weigh in.

@@Giggles34 I don't have a "regular" system either and I was told I could add the sugar-free non flavored benefiber to my Protein shakes. started that today because I was starting to feel a little uncomfortable :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
