Skywalker 170 Posted May 21, 2015 Hi all, I got sleeved in December, so almost exactly 5 months ago (and I love it). However, I've only lost about 50 lbs in those five months. A nice amount, but is this abnormally slow? The other people I've been talking to have lost more rapidly, such as 60, 70, etc. by now....

Babbs 14,681 Posted May 21, 2015 Hi, Same. I had lost 50lbs at my 5 month mark. Now I'm at 9 months and have lost an additional 19 more. And yes, I consider myself on the slow side (weight loss, not mentally ). I am a little on the older side, but other than that I really don't know why I lose a little slower than some. I follow my plan really well and exercise. After a semi meltdown about it at my 6 month mark after a long 5 week stall, I decided I was so over stressing about it anymore. I was losing, felt and looked great, and that's all that mattered. I realized it wasn't some kind of race to get to the finish line and be done. It's a whole lifestyle change that will never end, even at the goal line. I'm enjoying the journey, keep doing what I need to do, and I am now 16 pounds away from goal. If it takes me another 9 months to get there, so be it
Italian Gal 66 Posted May 21, 2015 Babbs....I am going to follow your cue. As an older gal trying to get healthy, I don't care how long it takes. If that scales keeps moving down...I will be happy!
Swampdoggie 477 Posted May 21, 2015 I'm with you guys. Slow and steady. I was 4 months out this week and have lost 40 pounds since the day of surgery. I gained a bit this week struggling with new meds that nauseate the hell out of me and ate of lot of Cereal and pudding until I felt better. Now I do and need to get back in the game, but I'm not beating myself up over it.
