I'm worried that I'm driving my surgeons office crazy....

Recommended Posts

My last nutrition class was April 10th and they called April 15th to tell me that they sent all of my paperwork to insurance. On April 27th I get a letter from insurance stating that they need my sleep study report and two different dates

I was told they sent it when they didn't. I had to go get the report myself last Thursday and send it to my surgeons office and I call Monday and insurance still doesn't have it. I only call 1-2 times a week but I'm worried that I'm driving them crazy. I wish they would hurry up because I want this band out of me and really want the bypass. My lower back has started hurting so bad again and the acid reflux has come to join the party. ????

Don't feel that way! They're not in your body and truly cannot feel what your going thru! I was on my surgeons office the whole way thru well. Even though they give a specific time line of what happens and when. I feel better when I am in control. There is no excuse that your insurance company has yet to receive all documents needed in order to authorize your switch to bypass. CALL THEM AGAIN! You should not suffer. Don't forget, you don't work for them, THEY WORK FOR YOU!

@@KalelsWifey Thank you so much! That makes me feel so much better. It wasn't like this when they did my lapband. I just don't understand why they're taking so long.

Thinking about you, prayers for your approval!

Your prayers worked because they called today and told me that insurance approved it. :D I have my surgical consult, pre-op, and prep class 6/15 and should have my surgery 6/30. My birthday is 6/23 so this is going to be the best birthday present ever.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
