ndn73 0 Posted May 20, 2015 I am from Canada. I have been approved for the sleeve surgery. I was put on the waiting list Dec 2,2014. I am frustrated with the waiting. I feel like I have been preparing for something that I have no idea when is going to happen. The clinic will not/ can not tell you how long the wait will be and we are not allowed to phone and ask about it. I am required to maintain my current weight to continue to qualify for surgery. I hope it's soon but I have zero idea....
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 20, 2015 That has got to be frustrating. I had to face a long wait and uncertainty about when I could have my surgery, too. The waiting is hard but by the time my surgery was scheduled I was more than ready. To prepare myself while I was waiting I: Weaned myself off of caffeine and pop Drank 64 oz. Water a day Exercised 60 minutes a day Focused on eating more Protein and reducing carbs Learned as much as I could about the surgery and the lifestyle changes Tried to continue to work on my food addiction and emotional eating issues and gathered supplies I would need as well as sampling Protein shakes in preparation for the surgery I wish I could say the wait wasn't frustrating but by focusing on what I could do, it helped. Best of luck with your journey. You won't regret it.
debeade 17 Posted June 1, 2015 I am Canadian as well, from Ontario. Took 11 months from orientation to surgery. Had to jump through a lot of hoops and the waiting was frustrating . Seemed like that year took forever but I am soooo glad I followed through . I am 9 months post- op , down 120 lbs. and feeling great. Soon you will be on the losers bench too.
