Nan60 0 Posted May 20, 2015 I am just one month out and have only lost 7 pounds. I am sticking to the diet but I am having problems with my BP getting too low and being very dizzy. So I am not getting much exercise in. Trying to ride a stationary bike but only get in 10 min a day. What should I do?

Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 20, 2015 You have lost weight. Last time I checked, seven pounds doesn't equal zero pounds. You are going in the right direction. There are so many variables that go into the rate you lose weight. Our bodies are complex systems, not simple machines. Right after surgery, your body is healing and adapting to the trauma of surgery. What I know (from my surgeon and subsequent experience and observation) is that the most important thing to maximize healing and weight loss is to get in all of your Protein and fluids. Are you reaching your Protein and Fluid goals daily?
LSF 264 Posted May 20, 2015 Make sure you are getting at least 1000 calories a day with a little but if carbs - like a slice of light whole wheat toast and lots of Protein. Also make sure you are getting your Water in and you will probably see the scale moving. My weight loss has been slow but consistent. I treat myself to 3/4 cup of Pasta once a week or I make a small pizza on low carb pita as the crust. It really does help

There's no way they can get 1000 calories yet

Minksi 10 Posted May 22, 2015 Fluids, fluids, fluids! You really need to focus on your hydration especially if your BP is getting low. Don't stress too much about Protein and calorie goals at this stage just do your best to eat what your body will let you and most importantly, drink!! If your dizzy spells are getting serious then maybe have a chat to your doctor about it. They will probably ask you things like: do you drink enough Water? are you standing up too fast? Just take you time and let your body adjust... it's going through some massive changes at the moment and may just need a bit of time to fine tune itself. Keep the exercise gentle until your body adjusts. You can even drink your Water while you're walking
