Did you notice that you said 396 instead of 296? How cool is it that you have to now train yourself to start your weight number with a 2 instead of a 3! You go girl!

If getting down to the 100s is called Onederland, is there a term for reaching the 200s? I'd vote for Twomorrow. As in some day I'll lose weight. Maybe tomorrow. Oh wait, tomorrow is here!

Holy buckets I love that!! I did not notice!!

Love this nsv! I totally relate to your story, I've been told to get off a roller coaster before as I didn't fit, totally mortifying!

I live in the uk and go to Florida every year on holiday, I love all the park rides and this year really wanted to go to busche gardens to ride falcons fury. However, I read online that the harnesses are small so I told my family I just didn't fancy going this year. It made me really sad. When we go next year, I'm going on falcons fury, at least 8 times like you ;-)

Oh I hope you do! Go every ride! Silence that inner voice that says you have to be a sideline watcher and never an active participant

I am excited for you and cheering you along!

I travel for work too and I always get so stressed if I can get a seatbelt extender or not. I flew 33 times last year and it was always so challenging to get one I really thought about taking one with me. Haha. Can you believe that's how bad it got? I'm thinking of stealing a seat belt extensor because I'm too big? I'm flying this week to Florida and already nervous about will I fit or not. I really like your honesty in this video. I look forward to seeing your updates! You will do amazing!

My next trip is booked for July. I am still a little nervous but this time I go knowing I am doing everything I can do to be the best me. Not even a seat belt extender can steal that joy

Two fun things

1. I made my top ten things I will not miss about being fat and have already overcome two of them!

2. Also, I ran my first mile.

And I cried.

Hi everyone!

My name is Jamie and I am new here. I read this forum a lot prior to surgery but never registered. Thank you all for being so helpful with such a huge decision!

I am 36 and married with no children. I have a high level position with a national catering company and have been event planning for over ten years.

I had my surgery on May 11th.

I am posting all over this board today because I really want to get involved and grow a strong community of support.

I decided to start making youtube videos to document my journey.

This is my first one that explains what is happening and why I decided to get the sleeve

Great video

You go girl! I was so touched by you crying over running your first mile. I too started running about 6 months ago, and absolutely fell in love with the idea of seeing how far I could go. After a C25K type program, I ran 3.1 miles (equivalent of a 5K) a couple of months ago. I NEVER, at 48 years old, thought I would be running 5K! It's amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it (and our bodies are more willing).

You're next! 5K, here you come!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
