Bulemic state of mind?

Recommended Posts

Donna,

I had the same experience as you so I'm glad you shared this info. I lost about 80 lbs in 1.5 year and most of it was done while being too tight and pbing several times a week. I was way too tight with my last fill and was in sooo much pain that I had to get a partial unfill. Of course I gained ten pounds right away. At the same time my new elliptical machine arrived and I've religiously been on that thing for thiry minutes five to six times a week. I really don't think I eat that much but the weight has come on and I am back in size ten as opposed to eights.

To top it off, I'm due for my TT in three weeks. Not a good time to gain weight but I'm afraid to get a fill cuz I can't stand the pain when I'm too tight. Not sure what I'll do here.

Ok so Im not here to judge. Sadly I know what it is to be satisfied with getting rid of food that you've eaten. Am I bulemic I dont think so I dont ever if not rarely actually intentionally get rid of a meal. Usually I will do so If Ive eaten somthing that couses nausea or just doesnt seem to sit well but this is like a few times a year if that. Ive spoken with my dr and he said something like that is normal its an animal instinct to get rid of somthing that feels bad in your stomach. But when your doing it often monthly or weekly, daily ah you have a problem. I understand perhaps not being able to process or digest because of the band and then needing to pb something but to do it repeatedly probably isnt to good for your band or your body. Id chew more and eat slower and maybe even add a little Water if your damned to eat something and its really dry. But Id also talk to my dr.

Hey Lara,

I had some slight pain if I drink too quickly. Usually a little burp will make me happy. So far, no probs with meat. I have not tried a steak, but I have had chicken breast, pork chop (grilled) and fajitas which went down well. I think once I was so hungry I ate too fast and I walked around the house with my arms over my head. After a few minutes, the pain went away. Felt like someone was sitting on my chest.

I have to tell you that I know exactly how you feel and I do the same thing. I have over eaten at times and then will go through the "throw up" motion and voila I puke it up and there are even times that I will eat just a bit more lol. No wonder I am fat lol!

I just learned about PB last wk, at my first doctors apt since Jan. I switched doctors because we had a very bad personality conflict. My new doc was on maternity leave. I do the PB thing at least once a day. I thought it was the chewing and swallowing to fast. I got a fill last week and I feel fine. Oh do I have alot to learn about this band. I just don't want anything bad to happen to me in the mean time. I love my new doc by the way she treats me like a real person opposed to the other doc I was a statistic. Want to talk about mental abuse???? I would never go back to see him.

this scares the holy living shi~t right out of me!!! This is not right in any way, shape or form. Get help before you end up losing what you love so much. It is NOT okay to do this and to try to make it alright by saying you only do it once in awhile...

Keep it up long enough and you will be on the band removal thread telling people how they should not make themselves throw up. PLEASE...get someone to help you with this. Enough people think that you HAVE to throw up when your banded..I wonder if this is the reason...I wonder if a lot of people actually do this all the time????? Scarey stuff here....

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HAVE TO PB. BY THAT I MEAN SAY YOU'VE JUST TAKEN A BITE OF food AND IT DOESN'T WANT TO GO DOWN. THEN BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THE FOOD COMES UP ALL ON IT'S OWN? i DON'T ENJOY WHEN THIS HAPPENS BUT, I DO FEEL BETTER BC OF THE PAIN OF THE FOOD BEING STUCK. I WAS BANDED IN JAN AND AM STILL TRYING FOODS OUT. LAST NIGHT I TRIED A STEAK. FIRST BITE I CHEWED TO MUSH, SWALLOWED AND THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO FALL TO THE FLOOR IN PAIN...IT WAS STUCK. IT WASN'T GOING DOWN SO IN MY MIND IT HAD TO COME UP. HOW MUCH PBING IS TOO MUCH?

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
