40 something Males... please help

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I am Tim. I'm 43 and having Gastric Bypass surgery on Friday, May 22.

Of course I am nervous, a little about the pain and/or recovery; but also going through all of the dietary "stuff" I will need to master (for the rest of my life I might add). I was not good at measuring food, or focusing on it at all. Just eating it. So, this is a bit overwhelming.

Anyone have any tips or comments that may help?

thanks all.

Tips regarding eating I know that I found it helpful to buy baby pates, forks, and spoons, as well as I bought baby cups that were all one cup and a food scale. I also bought measuring spoons that I kept in my purse, you got this, by the way May 22 is my birthday what a great day. I am one year post opt today and it was so worth it congrats on your pending surgury you got this and keep us posted.

Hi Tim! I hope your surgery went well and you are recovering nicely. I'm 13 days post op and doing well. Only a couple of painful spots remain.

I just moved into the puréed stage and I must say it was way easier to to get the Protein in during the liquid stage. I used Carnation instant Breakfast no sugar added, 13 grams of protein when mixed with 8 oz skim milk and added 1/3 cup instant fat free dry milk to make it 21 grams of protein total.
