In the next two weeks, I'm going on two vacations. Memorial Day weekend, for 4 days, I'm going to The Wharf in Orange Beach, AL and then 4 days later, I'm going to Seattle with a side trip to Victoria, Canada for, for 8 days. I just hit a milestone, 149 lbs, and don't want to screw up. I want to have fun and enjoy my trips, but I don't wanna backslide. I'm really just wanting some positive reinforcement!

Thanks, ahead of time for your encouragement and positive thoughts!!!

Have a great time!

All I can say from what you posted is that it seems like you will get a chance to do lots of walking and eat some great fresh seafood. I can't wait to be able to take a long walk on the beach.

Be sure a post some pictures.

Have fun, put Protein first and don't stress about it too much! Order appetizers instead of Entrees or split something. Take some stand by foods with you "in case" like shake powders or Protein Bars. You can do it!

It's a vacation--be active and make it about the experiences instead of the food, or just CHOOSE the occasional splurge and enjoy that--you can go full force again when you get home.

I lost over 2 pounds in Maui 3 weeks ago. Just walked a lot, and made sure I was eating the way I normally eat 90% of the time. If I knew I was going to indulge in some carbs or sweets or a Mai Tai or two (;)), I would just eat a little less dinner or lunch. Still had my daily Protein shake for Breakfast (we had a full kitchen in the condo) and brought Snacks like Jerky and nuts in case I wanted to munch. Easy peasy! You can do it! Oh, and keep that Water flowing!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
