Tierra T Tij 56 Posted May 18, 2015 Well a month back I got cut off my dad's insurance and since then my life sucks. I was SO close to getting a surgery date and everything. It makes me so sad, my dreams feel shattered. I want to just cry! I wanted to write this somewhere I don't know if there's a blog on here if there is I have not a clue how to get to it. Not only that I've gained a few pounds since that last visit to my bariatric surgeon not to mention my living situation sometimes is a struggle. I live with granny now, not on my own anymore and sometimes she's not always that supportive or nice and it hurts my feelings. I just want to write it to get it off my chest. I don't know if I ever get weight loss surgery now, I wonder if I'll just die a fattie because no one seems to care that I'm obese and unhappy! *cries*
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 18, 2015 If you have recently lost insurance and are in the US you shouldn't have to wait for open enrollment to get your own insurance through Obamacare. Have you explored what insurance is available to you? Some states require insurance companies to cover WLS, others do not. You won't know your options until you do the research. Don't give up. It may take longer than you had hoped but there are other options.
wicked 61 Posted May 18, 2015 Please do look into the Affordable Care Plan (Obamacare). If you are not insured and not employed, you should qualify for coverage. I'm so sorry this has happened to you when you were so close to having the surgery.... I can imagine how devastating that must be. But do not give up. You might have to wait a little longer but you can still accomplish your goal! Sending you lots of positive energy!
Djmohr 6,965 Posted May 18, 2015 @@Tierra T Tij, Please don't give up. I would follow up on Obamacare program and see what happens. It might take you a little bit longer but your dream of better health could still happen. Good luck to you. I will say a prayer that everything works out for you.
