I am just starting soft foods, 12 days out. Hubby went to KFC last night and I had him bring me a grilled dinner. I threw biscuit in the trash (didn't even look appealing - shock!) I tore the skin off and placed half in a container for lunch tomorrow. I ate a couple of bites of the mashed potatoes (throat is still sore) and a couple of bites of the baked Beans (chew, chew, chew). I am gently trying soft foods and Protein Drinks or greek yogurt. I am trying to get back to drinking a lot of Water. today is my first day back at work :D

At one month post op I all about to honestly eat whatever as long as it settles okay. I'm not allowed to have beef or pork until three months out. So I eat lots of turkey and chicken to get in my Protein. What are you eating right now?

I'll be 1 month post-op next week. Have progressed onto soft foods over that last week or so. Still really struggle with eggs. I'll get half way through a scrambled egg and feel like its stuck in my oesophagus. Then I get the burps and pretty much just burp up egg... it's not very nice :(

I made a tuna mornay for lunch today and had it with some mashed up sweet potato, pumpkin and zucchini. So far, that has gone down well :). I also tolerate pea and ham Soup well. It's wazzed up so the ham is in really small pieces. At the moment I'm probably getting most of my Protein from that and the milk & yogurt I'm eating.

I think my main problem is I'm not drinking enough fluids.

I lost weight well in the first week or 2 but have sat at 93 for about a week now :(. Getting the mopeys

I'm eating baked or grilled chicken, eggs, yogurt, cheese stick, oatmeal, I tried cooked broccoli and green Beans and both were ok. I'm just really nervous to try more/different things. I had horrible horrible heartburn and my sleeve was just so grumpy and I had 1 salt less cracker and omg that was a mistake. I just feel like when I see/hear others they are just eating much more. I also can only take about 2-3 baby spoon bites and have to wait a good 20 mins to eat more. My mother made me a grilled chicken cutlet and I was determined to eat the whole thing even if it took me all day and it really did. I haven't been meeting my Protein or liquid goals and I had to stop with the Protein Shakes bc they bothered my kidneys and I ended up in the er in horrible pain. So now I'm just really looking for ideas of foods I can make and will sit well. This weekend I am going to start weekly preps so hoping that helps.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
