jennyhurt3 3 Posted May 18, 2015 I'm getting sleeved June 3rd and have a 6 month old baby and my husband is a farmer so works late nights. More than the procedure I'm so worried about the two weeks post op that I won't be able to carry my son! Was it really a full 2 weeks that you felt sore? How long were you off work? I'm wondering how quickly I'll be able to get back to taking care of my baby!
Carlos244 0 Posted May 18, 2015 I had the surgery on May 5 and by May 7 or 8th I was fine. I was walking and I was a little sore like I did a lot of sit ups but everyone is different.
Joz31 90 Posted May 18, 2015 @@jennyhurt3 The concern is that you can give yourself a hernia at the incision sites post op by lifting too much. My surgeon has me on a 15 lb. lifting restriction for 4 weeks but every dr. Is different.
gettingtothenewme 11 Posted May 18, 2015 You baby is still small enough to lift and carry. Im 1 week out and have a 10 month old. I sit down on the couch to pick her up

jennyhurt3 3 Posted May 18, 2015 I have a 15 lb restriction. Just makes me worry about how to get the baby in and out of the tub, bending over into the crib, on and out of the car. Hopefully by week 2 I'll be strong enough to manage.
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted May 19, 2015 You will be strong enough they just don't want you to risk complications.
