That is information you will need to get from your doctor and NUT. Everyone's post-op instructions are different. I was on purees from day 3-14.

My surgeon did not use puréed foods at all. We were on varying degrees of soft food gradually adding foods until week 7 when we could eat everything

I know. I'm on it for a week to two weeks. Just curious to see what others' time frames were like!

Gotcha...Mine was full liquids and purees, then to soft foods (anything that can be cut easliy with a spoon), and I can begin regular foods next week (7 weeks).

On average it's two weeks.. Then soft foods. I had egg during my purée stage but in small bites and chewed well.. I also had pear and peach (no skin and well chewed).. I'm starting week 4 down a little over 40 pounds. Never had dumping or any issues. good luck :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
