phatfatgirl 100 Posted May 14, 2015 Oohhh good one. I'm waiting for responses. I suffer from IBS so that has definitely been on my mind since I'm going to be having the bypass done.
CJFW 23 Posted May 16, 2015 Ok So I suffered from all kinds of stuff.. After sleeve I was told that there was nothing like dumping or anything associated with a sleeve... That's what I was told by my surgeon. Since sleeve I still suffer from Constipation and dumping syndrome. If I eat something to cold or with to high sugar I dump. I also have difficulties with a lot of milk/dairy. I am 5 years out so I still have issues.
tracywag 27 Posted May 19, 2015 I have had far less bowel issues since surgery. I have mixed IBS, and do still sometimes go between too frequent and too infrequent, but nowhere near as often. If I let myself get dehydrated, I can count on a few days Constipation. Pushing Water, sometimes adding Fiber or colace, will fix that. I have not had dumping, but haven't really challenged that fully with sugar at least (I don't restrict fat).
SeahawksFan 444 Posted May 19, 2015 I am about 7 months out and have not had one single issue with my IBS since surgery. I used to have issues probably 3x a week. I self paid for the sleeve and I can say that just fixing the IBS was well worth the money. I do eat oatmeal almost everyday to stay regular with all that Protein. I also can eat anything and not dump. I am at goal weight and couldn't be happier. Good luck- LA
