Mobeans63 32 Posted May 13, 2015 I have my psych evaluation and nutrition class (as required by Aetna) coming up and am feeling so nervous about the psych portion! May I ask what that evaluation entails? Any subjects I should steer clear of? Also, I am about to see a new psychiatrist for a depression problem that my PCP has not been successful in helping me feel better. Any chance that this could just my approval with Aetna? I really appreciate any help or advice.
sparksrn 65 Posted May 13, 2015 Don't worry about it, it's really just a formality and to make sure you aren't a bulimic and have anorexia. Are you going to someone your surgeon recommended? I did and the person who was doing my evaluation talked more than I did! He asked about my family and my support after surgery, etc. Did I smoke or drink, etc. Really not a big deal at all. My surgery is June 1st, hope yours is soon!!
Mobeans63 32 Posted May 13, 2015 Thank you. I am tentatively scheduled for early July but my doctors office gathers the entire case file before sending it to the insurance company. So you don't think I should worry about the fact that I'm also going to see a psychiatrist as a new patient in the midst of all this? because surely my insurance company will know about that. The evaluation, by the way, happens right at the surgeons office.
