Okay I need some reassurance

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved March 2nd of this year. I've lost 55 lbs and I'm happy about that but I have been in a stall since my last drs appt on April 4th I haven't lost any weight since then. I've tracked my food, upped my calories to 800-1000. I'm still not able to do much exercise wise because of my back and knees but I walk some. In the past I have never been able to lose more than what I have now and I have at least another 120 to go. I'm really starting to get bummed out,I even had an ice cream last night. I know that doesn't help but I was weak. I'm not even a big ice cream fan so I don't know why I did it. I'm drinking a Protein Shake now and am back on the wagon. I'm just wish I could get the scale to move. I'm usually very optimistic but I'm g feeling defeated. Thanks for letting me vent.

Welcome to your first big stall! The "3rd week stall" can sometimes last for a few weeks. Look at other indicators of weight loss: clothes fitting looser, being able to move better, less pain... the ting with most stalls is that once you break through it is, the weight will plummet. Just in time for the next stall. It is hard to be positive when we are going through it but, looking back it is not as big of a deal. You are 55 lbs lighter than you were 2 months ago and are on the right path to be a healthier you. Keep your head up try to change you activity if you can get to a pool try that (there is no joint impact in swimming) lower your carb intake... something different just to break the stall. You can do this good luck!

Never give up! I have felt like giving up so many times, especially after long stalls. At 6 months, I had a 6 week stall for no apparent reason. I tried EVERYTHING. I just had to keep doing what I needed to do and wait it out.

Hang in there! It WILL pass. Stay away from the ice cream (although sometimes a little cheat seems to help some stalls) and keep doing what you need to do!

Long stalls are like lovers. Your first will probably not be your last. I am in a loooooong one now that has lasted for months. I am following my plan and still measuring and longing and weighing, but nevertheless, stalls happen. I have my bad days, too. This week, my sciatica which was in remission because of radiofrequency ablation, is back. I caved in to the pain last night and had some pound cake, but I am not beating myself up about it.

I had a stall every 3 or 4 weeks. Now I'm a year out & haven't lost anything since late March. I had a doctor's appt. this past week & she was very happy with my progress so I'm not going to drive myself crazy. I just have to be more careful of what I eat & try & exercise more. Even tho' the weight loss has been slow I'm so happy I had the surgery. My knees don't hurt much now. I moved into a second floor apartment so I would be forced to get some sort of exercise & it has helped. The most positive thing that has happened is not having to wear that stupid CPAP contraption anymore!! Yay!!! Even my oxygen useage is down considerably. I can even go into a restaurant & not have to drag the oxygen tank with me. I still carry the oxygen in my car & wear it when I'm driving.

Believe me, it will get better & so worth it. Best of luck with your journey.

Dont give up.. Just follow the plan and it will change...just have to be patient, only your body will let that weight to come off when its ready to finally let it go! This is imo the most mind effing time through this whole process????. I too have a shit load more to lose, we just have to stick to the plan and take it one day at a time ;)

Wish you all the best on your weight loss journey xox.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
