Any one else have a "cheat day" on Mother's Day?

Recommended Posts

Well not a total cheat day. I still made high Protein, low carb choices (as much as possible). Probably grazed a little more than usual but the biggest thing, I did't track any calories on myfitnesspal for the first time since my surgery and it was sooooooo weird. I think I have become addicted to tracking :)

I had a couple small pieces of a spinach and artichoke thin crust pizza my daughter made for me and it was DELICIOUS. It's a big deal for me because 99% of the time I don't eat bread of any kind. I also ate a couple of chocolate covered strawberries. YUM.

I anticipated going a little overboard yesterday, so I ended up going to the gym that morning and doing a 90 minute work out.

This morning I was down a pound. Go figure :P

I had four nacho chips with cheese and bits of steak on it. Then had a small sliver of cake they bought me. I didn't feel guilty at all! I never said I wasn't going to eat these foods again just said in moderation. I didn't eat the whole cake! lol Yay there is the difference!

Total blowout - put on several pounds... (also had a birthday on Friday so it was basically a three day binge-fest).

I absolutely went off my plan for Mother's Day. I knew I was going to do it, so I upped my exercise last week. I ate the chocolate icing off a piece of cake. Had a piece of strawberry shortcake, and a piece of Tres Leche cake. It was delicious. I just made sure my other food choices were grilled salmon and a kale salad.

Then on Monday it was back to my normal eating plan of low carbs and high Protein.

We went to a brunch/ buffet. I really wanted dessert so I had an omelet and only are 1/2. When I went to the dessert table- nothing was appealing to me. I ended up taking a cookie and a small shot glass of chocolate mousse

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
