Coming up on my last week of my liquid diet. It was not as bad as I thought but it was not easy. A lot of praying.

I'm scheduled June 9...they literally told me 2 days ago. So I'm freaking out a little lol. I'm excited, though, just feel a little unprepared, starting to reread all the tips and whatnot. How have you guys been preparing?

Congrats to everyone for their surgery dates! I have mine June 3rd! I cannot believe that's only a few days. I have been trying to get all the laundry done, house cleaned, etc so my mother-in-law won't feel obligated to do it. She is coming in Tuesday to watch our four boys. I am still on the emotional roller coaster. So ready to get off that darn thing!

How is everyone doing???

On my second day of liqyid4. Surgery June 12th. Excited but scared too. Love the weight loss that I have so far can't wait for more. It's the only thing that keeps me going. I have noticed while on this liquid diet, how inundated we are with food. It's EVERYWHERE! No wonder we have issues with food. Time to change all that.

I came in yesterday at 7:30am. They did some routine tests on me (blood work, sugar). Once they got ready to take me back they gave me some anxiety and nausea meds. I was pretty loopy before they started. She put oxygen over my face and I was out!. Woke up in recovery and they gave me lots of meds I was then wheeled of to my room.i didn't have anything to eat until just now. They brought me chicken broth, hello and unsweetened tea.

You'll do great on your surgery! The doctor said there weren't any complications. Yay!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
