Anyone else afraid to tell their significant other, the one who sees them naked every day, the number on the scale? My husband knows I'm getting the surgery and has always supported me. He tells me I'm beautiful every day. We have been married for 10 years and are still very happy. When we met I was a size 8. 10 years and 2 kids later I'm a 16. How freaking embarrassing! I can tell you all I weigh 201 but I can't tell the one person who is there for me no matter what. I'm afraid he will look at me differently even though I know he never would. Does that even make sense?

My husband is the same. He has loved me at 120lbs and at 255lbs. I am embarrassed by my body shape and the number but I believe that my problem...not his. I just had surgery 2 weeks ago today and he has seem the good, bad and really ugly. I think it will all be ok. Keep your head up.

Why would you? Not that it's wrong or anything, but seems like it's a personal preference thing not to share it, so feel free to keep it to yourself if you want to!

My hubby of 31 years now has loved me at weights from 128 to 318, and now on my way back down at 169. I"m not at all sure what purpose it would serve to tell him my weight, other than my having an increased sense of shame for having gotten here. I figure that one's mine to carry and let go of, not his.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
