Does anyone have trouble with eating salad?

Sometimes my stomach doesn't like lettuce, although it has become more tolerant as time has passed. My stomach hates salad dressing though and any form of oils, so I have to make sure that I order or make my salads without the dressing on them in most instances.

Lettuce in particular seems to be an issue for some people - who knows why, but it's just one of those YMMV things. I generally use chopped spinach instead of lettuce for its' somewhat better nutritional profile; I've been having salads with a little meat in them since around the end of the first month, The thing to do is to try the various components one at a time to see where the problem is, and avoid that food for now and then try it again in a few weeks.

I tried a salad today (lettuce and spinach mixed). I've been craving salad since my surgery (March 10). Unfortunately it was uncomfy to eat so for now it's a no go for me. ????. Will try again in a few weeks. I'm sad, salad is one of my favorite foods, especially in the summer!

I couldn't eat salad till 6-8 months out. I still get a little gassy and bloated if I eat too much lettuce at once, but I've kind of figured out how much I can tolerate and stick with that. The Caesar salad I used to get from my local deli as a single meal now lasts 4-5 meals.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
