Medicine Question

I'm just wondering, if you're already on medication before surgery for high blood pressure etc. are you okay to take the same pills after surgery? Or does your doctor have to substitute with a liquid?

My surgeon gave me pills for everything (PPI, iron/folic acid, and metformin), however my blood sugar has been under 100 since surgery so my PCP has taken me off my diabetes medication. I've not had any issues swallowing pills post-op.

I'm on BP pills and was able to take them whole after surgery. You can swallow pills the size of m&m's without crushing is what my surgeon said.

my doc discontinued my diabetes, high blood pressure pills right after surgery

meds are frequently discontinued, or decreased

as with many things, "we" are all different

"we" can give you our experiences about our meds

at the end of the day always, always listen to your NUT/surgeon (me too of course )

Thanks everyone, I was worried about the ability to swallow pills but I guess I'll be okay. My pills are very small.
