Loved your blog! The list was terrific and I am so thrilled to say I've already experienced a lot of those NSV's! It really is those victories that make this journey so joyful!

I look forward to being able to throw on a cute sundress and flip flops and look adorable!

I look forward to doing all the things I used to love: dancing, going to the flea market, festivals, downtown events....and not worry about running into people who used to know the "Skinny" Natalie and have them look at me like "What happened to you"? Those people I've avoided for 8 years will see me (when I reach goal) and say "Wow, you look great". I feel ya ????

I look forward to men falling all over themselves to open doors for me, rather than how they let it slam in my face now!! LOL

I'll take the super deluxe package...all of the above, plus...

Being able to feel my hip bones. They're there somewhere. :)

Skinny fingers.

Every day I wiggle my hands around to see if I can spot bones yet, lol.

Like the skinny fingers comment, looking forward to resizing my rings. I'm wearing plastic tubing resizers on all my good jewelry and just want it to fit but want to wait 'til I'm at goal.

Not having parts of my body going ahead of me, like my stomach mainly, to greet the world on my behalf. It's like having a stalker superglued to your exterior 24/7.

Just how nice a good hug feels now. My arms and theirs can really reach around when the gut is not in the way. It feels great.I didn't know this when I started, but it really is nice to physically feel more connected with my kids and friends.

I can't wait to not be in so much pain always. No more cortisone injections in foot and epidurals in back. No more sweating because of fat. No more meds hopefully and having more energy to keep up with my 3 year old granddaughter! Last my dream has always been to learn how to rock climb but was worried if the harness would hold me(I know would but you never know!)

Being able to not worry that I'll be the heaviest person in the room, where ever I go.

Not having the feeling that I want to avoid seeing people, because they'll know how heavy I've gotten.

Enjoy the flexibilty of my body in yoga-type activities,

Being the one in control instead of food controlling me,

Not having the fear that I won't be able to buckle the airplane seatbelt,

Dressing in more attractive clothes and colors instead of choosing colors and styles that don't draw attention to myself,

Being at peace with myself

Sweating less.

Weighing less than my husband.

Saying "yes" to activities I wouldn't (or couldn't) do while heavy--and actually being excited.

Not having a near-panic attack whenever I dress up for a night out. And enjoying dressing up for a night out!

Walking my dogs more. Wanting to walk more and being able to.

The backs of my legs not falling asleep when sitting at my desk.

Feeling more in control of my body and, subsequently, my life.

Less hip/knee/back pain.

No more swollen ankles!!!

Not being the biggest/heaviest/fattest person in the room.

Being able to be sartorially creative, to wear interesting outfits as opposed to whatever fits or hides my rolls.

Wearing a bra correctly and comfortably, as opposed to wearing it between my back fat rolls!

Sex without leg cramps. And without my belly getting in the way.

Less wobbly bits and worry overall and more excitement and enjoyment!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
