I mix Aldi's FIt & Lite brand of vanilla Greek yogurt equal parts with ricotta, plus a little sweetener. It Is a nice smooth addition to shakes, too.

The Greek has sooooooo much more protein! Try the Fage, Oikos, Yoplait, Siggis, Brown Cow, Chobani, Trader Joe's.... Any of the Greek ones if you can!

jess9395 is right...the Greek yogurt has a ton more Protein and is way better for you. I personally am not a big fan and didn't eat any of it until recently, well over a year and a half post-op. I have found that as someone who doesn't like that kind of bitter taste of Greek yogurt, the Greek Whipped 100 calorie cups are really good. I think they are made by Yoplait. If you stick one in the freezer before you make a Protein shake, you can mix it with almond milk, Protein powder, and a little PB2 and you get a ton of Protein and you don't really taste the yogurt all that much. The frozen yogurt though thickens up the shake and if you get the cupcake flavor, which is my favorite, a vanilla Protein Shake can taste like a milkshake.

Ditto to @proudgrammy. Plain Fage Greek yogurt has one of the best protein/carb ratios. I use fruit, Torani syrups, honey or Protein powders for flavoring.....vanilla, banana, raspberry, Irish cream, pumpkin pie, blueberry, peach, hazelnut, English Toffee, cherry, cinnamon, etc. I also often add Kashi Go Lean Cereal for texture, Fiber and even more Protein.< /p>

All of the presweetened yogurts are too sweet for me, so it's nice to be able to control the sweet level by starting with plain yogurt.

As you might find if you haven't already that taste might change.... That being said open yourself up to experiment! I have personally tried just about every brand/flavor of Greek yogurts that can be found in my area! :) I've I've expanded my shopping area simply because some stores have a different variety or brands. What you may not have enjoyed in the past might be super yummy now.

I didn't enjoy Greek yogurt preop and now it's the only thing for me.

Ps the triple zero is amazing! As well as Fage!

Also, look into Siggi's yogurt (Icelandic style cream-skyre). Blood Orange is 14g Protein and 12g carbs, 130cal. I prefer Oikos, but Siggi's is a good way to throw in variety :)

I agree - GREEK yogurt. Fage 0 (plain) with melon is my favorite. I usually can only eat 1/3 - 1/2 a container at a sitting and it fills me up for 4-5 hours. Now I am 6 weeks out and I can enjoy almost the entire container. I now have the Oikos Triple Zero to my menu. My favorite is the mixed berry is very tasty.

If the texture of Greek bothers you try the Yoplait whips Greek yogurt!

All "greek" yogurts are not the same. True greek yogurt is extensively strained to get the whey out which then leads to thicker, more condensed yogurt with more Protein.... Yoplait (and others) are not true greek yogurt as they use additives and fillers to thicken the yogurt, so if you are concerned about getting true additive-free yogurt, check the label for things like guar gum and pectin, carrageenan, sodium citrate, potassium sorbate, corn starch. I know this doesn't matter to everyone, but it did to me when I learned so thought I would share. I personally eat Fage, which as no fillers, additives etc added.

This. The fake stuff is disgusting. I wish using "Greek" on yogurt labels was regulated somehow. Whipped Greek yogurt? Um, no. That doesn't even make sense. The fake stuff is slimy and weird. I love Fage. I just get a big bucket of the plain and mix my own stuff into it; strawberries, maple Syrup, honey, PB2, etc... whatever I'm in the mood for. You can also make it yourself. Just get (or make) regular plain yogurt and put it in a colander lined with cheese cloth. Put the colander over a bowl to catch the whey and let it sit overnight in the fridge. Voila! Greek yogurt.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
