Is there any guide to how much weight you are to lose?

Recommended Posts

Today am 9 days post op, but I have not lost ounces in the past 4days. Is something wrong? Am not expecting 5lbs or nothing but this early are you not to lose nothing? I feel like I need a little guidance.

Everybody experiences something a little different. Remember that after surgery you've been on those IVs and you may be hanging on to some fluids. It could take a while for that to work its way out. I'd stay away from the scale for another week or so. It's pretty impossible not to lose something when you're eating so little right after surgery. Just give your body time to bounce back a bit from what it just went through. You'll be losing in no time :)

I know you will get soooo many answers and you will get so many days of stalls and frustrations.

Here was my take on it. I do weigh every day. If my weight drops lower than its been then I do record in my fitness pal. If not I just move on and don't sweat it. I don't bother with the fluctuation and frustration.

I'm 11 months out and hit goal at 9 and under since. scale does not move much at all. Many many stalls that began at 10 days and continued at a logical stair step pattern throughout the process.

See what works for you. I just don't record any ups because they are not permanent.

Be patient. I am 2 weeks post op. When I came home from the hospital I was actually heavier then when I went in. At my week check up I was told that after surgery you really don't want to drink anything, so it is not uncommon for the Dr to run your IV faster than nornal so you don't become dehydrated when you get home. It will pass. You will start to see the weight come off.
