post surgical sexual intimicies

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I tried to get some response from an earlier thread, but no luck, so I will try a new thread. I was wondering without being to graphic, how the lap band will change some of the activities that my hubby and I enjoy, now that I have a smaller stomach, am I limited to what can go in the stomach, and will it affect me, if at all. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Mahalo

As you are healing, you will be more limited in positions simply because some will be uncomfortable for you. My BF and I still have trouble with the missionary position because his weight puts too much pressure on my port site, which is painful for me. Other aspects of intimacy will not be affected, though.

From reading the original posters thread before this one, I think the OP is talking about swallowing sperm. The amount of sperm that is released in an ejaculation is not going to affect the stomach pouch.

Hi,

Well.. I haven't actually attempted that as of yet but I'm almost certain it won't hurt you. I say go ahead and try it because even if someone on here says it's not okay or it is okay, you won't know what will hurt YOU until YOU try it.

You guys are awesome!!!!! I guess Shaydee is right, I won't know until I try it. But if by chance someone out there has tried it, please let me know, I would rather not be throwing up or having a PB (ewww) with that one.

Lol...interesting question....I had my procedure done on May 7th, and I wanna say me and my bf started having sex like 3 weeks laterr....I knew I could have been having sex earlier but my bf was scared of hurting me, and me not being properly healed...Either way...it hasnt affected what we do in bed. We still do all the same things pre-surgery as well as post-surgery.

I am not a swallower so I am not sure about the pb of sperm. Well, now, that would be quite embarassing if you were pbing sperm with the in laws around. LOL...just kidding. I really don't know, but can't imagine it would be any different than having a sip of something kinda thick and mucuosy (sp?)...lol..now that sounds gross....I am gonna shut up now...LOL...Deanna

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
