I'm a little over 6 weeks out from surgery. I've been doing pretty well lately. My average daily calories are 600-700. Today I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with work, so I'm stressed, and I'm starving. I don't know if i'm reverting back to my old stress eating habit, or I'm just getting hungrier. Today I'm at 800 calories, and I haven't had dinner yet. I have eaten healthy food; eggs with cheese, Protein chips, turkey and cheese, Protein Bar, and 2 slices of cheese. Is it normal to start reading more calories now?

I just went to my 6 week check up today and I have been averaging 1,000 calories a day. I have been dropping more weight than when I was only eating 500-600 per day. My surgeon said 1,000 calories was perfect! I get hungry (not like pre-surgery when I was diabetic and my blood sugar dropped all the time). I think it's normal!

I am also about 6 weeks out and was right around 800 and stalled. I bumped up to 1000 and lost 3 pounds in 4 days.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
