I love salads. I'm one month out. How long did you wait before eating salads? I want to try but I'm a chicken!!

Please be careful with salads...the lettuce and such can expand in your sleeve!! Especially since you're new, you may want to try just a very small salad, and take it very slow...you'll fill the sleeve before you know it!!

Lettuce and many fresh veggies are not my friend anymore. They just don't "sit" well. I do miss salads...sigh...

I was back eating salads and fresh/raw veg at 6 weeks. I was adding spinach frozen and fresh to my Protein Drinks from week 1. However I am vegetarian and I think my system is used to it. Follow the food guide your nutritionist has provided and take it slow. Some people have trouble with raw veg as the roughage is hard on the tummy.

I think I'll wait it out. I have an appointment with my nutritionist in 2 weeks. I guess it's all trial and error in tiny portions. Thank you so much!!

I haven't eaten a salad since I was sleeved 8 months ago. Raw vegetables REALLY make me sick. I can only eat cooked vegetables. And I don't eat many of those, because then I wouldn't have room for my protein!

I stArted at 2 months post op. We have a salad bar in our cafeteria at work and I make a salad every day and cut up chicken in the salad. When I had the lapband that was the easiest way for me to eat meat and it still is easy for me to digest

I also make wraps using either romaine or bib lettuce instead of bread.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
