tnkrrbl 53 Posted May 7, 2015 Anyone not have gas pains post surgery?
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted May 7, 2015 Not a one. At my final pre-op visit, I asked my surgeon how he handles pain management, specifically residual shoulder gas. He said he would extract as much as possible before closing up - and he did.

borg/assimilated 576 Posted May 7, 2015 Not a single one. Ditto Miss Mac re: what surgeon said about removing as much gas as possible before closing.
RaginCajun 177 Posted May 8, 2015 No gas pains here. No pain either. Was up and walking nigh of surgery. The one thing that stands out, both here, and the 'other board' is that there is no one-size-fits-all experience. Variables include pre-op diet to know pre-op diet; how long post op on liquids (I transitioned to soft foods on Day 7 post op; level of restriction of sleeve - some folks cant even drink, yet some can drink no problems immediately after surgery (me) ... and some folks have a very hard time getting any food down post op. But the common thread is that over time it all works out ... you see SO MANY success stories when folks post 6mo, 9mo, 12 mo post-op. All say one thing in common "Best decision I ever made". It will all work out: one day at a time ... one meal at a time ... one bite at a time. -RC-
Chele H 427 Posted May 8, 2015 I was doubly blessed with no gas pains and no nausea
wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted May 8, 2015 Same here. no nausea, no slimes, no nothing. I've had a very uneventful recovery.....except.......constipation caused by the extremely wonderful pain meds they sent home with me. I loved them....till I didn't. The Constipation almost sent me to the ER. So beware the pain meds!!!!!
liannatx 897 Posted May 8, 2015 I didn't have them at all with my band removal, or with the sleeve.... same fabulous surgeon.
glitter eyes 1,398 Posted May 8, 2015 I was blessed and had no gas pains. I also walked a lot post op. I even walked from the recovery room stretcher to my room. I think the walking may have helped, or it just could have been the luck of the draw.
Mbstas 57 Posted May 8, 2015 None for me as well but I also did a lot of walking.
