PigsRFlying,

I did that for my Clear Liquids diet. I just dissolved some Protein Powder in it and watered it down a but and drank it with a glass of Water. It's a good idea b/c of how many flavors they have. I do it now, too, with a little milk or some cream of wheat tossed in instead of noodles.

Gives some Iron, and Calcium and Protein if you make it my way and it's better than broth all the time.

I went out with a friend today. We went to Panera. 1st time in a restaurant since my surgery (Aug. 8th). She had a salad & I asked them if they would put some veg. Soup in the blender for me. She did. It wasn't bad. But boy are my choppers ready to be used. But hey, at least I made it thru my 1st time in a restaurant good. I was actually proud of myself, because I really wanted some kind of sandwich, with really good thick, bread.< /p>

Hi everyone. I was banded a week ago today. It's been an interesting journey.

BTW, Does anyone know how I can get my ticker into my profile somewhere so that when I post my ticker will show up? Thanks

I have no idea how to do tickers. I'd be interested in the info. as well. & also do you have to retype all the info. under each message as to date you were banded, your doc. where your from & all that goood stuff or is there a way to get that to automatically come on your pages as well.

hey. ive figured it out. if you go to the ticker site that everyone is making them in, you create your ticker and then use the BBcode and put it in your signature under UserCP. Also, the information that you want to put in regarding your loss and fills and such, if you keep that in your signature, it will appear on all your posts and you just update your signature when you have new information.

Also to update it, just go to one of your posts, and click on the ticker. It'll take you to you ticker profile at tickerfactory and you can just put in the new values and it'll give you what you need.

Oh! The BEST THING EVER!!!

Campbels Healthy Request

Mexican Style chicken Tortilla Soup (98% Fat Free)

In a blender, Mircowave for 1min 33 secs, and put a spoonful of

Low Fat Sour Cream in the middle. It is the tastiest thing I've had in weeks.

Healthy Choice makes one too that's REALLY good! (20 grams of Protein too) After blending I had to add a little broth to thin it. Good idea with the sour cream!

I've learned from the last 2 weeks that if I sip my pureed Soup instead of drinking it that I get filled up sooner. Hope this helps someone.

I meant sip from a spoon instead of drinking.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
