Debi287 4 Posted May 7, 2015 We are taking my mom to Applebee's for Mother's Day. I'm 9 weeks out and unsure what to order. Is it too soon to try bbq ribs? I don't see grilled chicken on menu. Any suggestions. Also if I make bean Soup do I have to mash the Beans or am I pass that now Any help is appreciated
ShellMilliner 233 Posted May 7, 2015 Applebee's has a weight watcher's menu (at least they did) that is probably your best bet. I'm not sure what your guidance is but at 7 weeks I'm allowed to transistion to regular foods, so your Beans should be just fin. I'm not sure I would try ribs for the first time at a restaraunt, you don't want to risk getting sick while out. I would save first time foods especially ones that tend to be fatty and greasy for home. I'm sure they have a grilled chicken on their menu, I can't imagine a full service restaraunt that doesn't. PinkPolkadot619 337 Posted May 7, 2015 any thing you have for the first time, try at home. sometimes I just get Soup and have my Protein at home. also be carful with BBQ sauces as they are often high in sugar.
Band07 374 Posted May 7, 2015 Maybe just order some side items? Mashed potatoes or a Soup? I agree with Pinkpolkadot, I try everything new at home first, too scared not too.
PinkPolkadot619 337 Posted May 7, 2015 also applebees has their nutrition info online. I always make a plan for what I am going to order and have a plan B, that way I am not tempted by things that are not beneficial to me and my body.
jess9395 5,449 Posted May 7, 2015 I think at 9 weeks you can definitely leave your Beans unmashed. And eat pretty much anything on plan at the restaurant--protein first. But yeah I don't think I would try something new just in case.
Debi287 4 Posted May 7, 2015 Great advice. Thanks for all the input
TXMissy 211 Posted May 7, 2015 They have a great chicken plate. I think it's called Margarita chicken. It has a salsa on top that isn't spicy. Also, I'm sure if you don't want something on it that you ask them to put it on the side or leave it off all together. The nice thing about lots of chain restaurants is that they are putting healthier options on their menus.
