So before surgery (4/20), I was and am on birth control, I get the Depo shot every three months. My periods had stopped while on it. Since surgery, I got my period, now going on day 12!!! Even when I used to get it, it lasted 4 or 5 days max! Any insight?? Anyone else have issue?

Estrogen is stored in fat. As you lose weight, more estrogen is put into your circulation, changing things. Talk to your gyn.

My cycle has been so off its insane. I use the ring so I can control when I have a period. Or at least that was one of the reasons I started that.... since surgery I usually get my cycle every two weeks, even with the ring in, and I bloat about 10lbs and crave carbs like I will kill for them lol. Your not alone

I think the surgery really screws up your body chemistry. It will take a couple of months to settle down. Also, my surgeon recommends using a second form of Birth control as you are more likely to conceive during this time.

I'm the same way. I have the mirena and I had surgery March 20 and I still have my cycle everyday since surgery. It's awful I keep thinking when is it going to stop.

I'm so glad someone brought this up ... My period still has not come ... I'm not worried it was pretty regular and as surgery date for me got closer 4-23-2015 I got more nervous which is why it probably still has not come .. (In my mind) but now it's still not here even though things have calm down.. Anyone seen there's disappear for awhile ----> no chance of pregnancy I had a tubal 11 years ago .. Tied and burned.

I just got the mirena on March 2nd. My surgery was April 8th. I'm STILL bleeding. What gives?! I hope it stops soon. The money I'm not spending on food is going towards pads. Lol

Kellmark I'm happy to know someone else is like me cause my doctors office says it has nothing to do with the surgery. I think it has everything to with it. lol.

Can't believe your Drs office said it's not related. It most certainly is. 1-the stress factor 2-the anesthesia and 3-the pathophysiology of the surgery!!! DUH! to the office!! As you lose weight, the estrogen, which is stored in fat, is released in large amounts at a fast pace. That effects the cycle.

I'm do not use birth control due to having tubes tied. My cycle has not changed one bit. I talk to my doc about going on birth control and both have suggested I wait till I get to goal.

My surgeon warned me about this side effect, he said you will either not get a cycle at all or you will have it right away

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
