banksdea 10 Posted May 6, 2015 Didn't check all the ingredients. I just need to know if I set myself back while drinking a carrot, banana and strawberry smoothie ????. I eat a lot of the sugar free recommended foods but there's always a little sugar in "sugar free" stuff right? ????I see my doctor on Friday.
ShrinkingPeach 1,291 Posted May 7, 2015 You probably didn't "set yourself back" but anything not on your approved list isn't doing what you need. I am sure you learned a valuable lesson about labels and one slip isn't the end of the world, get back on that horse!!
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted May 7, 2015 Was it homemade or bottled? The problem with fruit smoothies is it''s pretend health food. You're drinking concentrated sugar with limited Fiber. I agree with others, stick to what's on your allowable list.
Brigiter 40 Posted May 8, 2015 My dr allows home made smoothies on liquid diet he even gives recipes for them! I had my first one today 3 day post op
alindsey 230 Posted May 9, 2015 smoothies are ok if it's just fresh fruit juice. Not concentrated juice or premade juice but actually fresh pressed or squeezed juice!!! But when they add frozen yogur, sugars ,ice cream etc... It's not a smoothie it's a full on MILK shake with fruit in it!!! Not good!!
