Losing and feeling gudd!

Recommended Posts

Just had my two month check in with my WL team. 297.5! Its been years since I've been under 300lbs! It feels so good that my hard work is paying off. It does take time, I did have a stall in weight loss for about week. I had to change some things then I started losing more. I weighed 386lbs bf surgery and loss about 40lbs during my 6 month nut class. Then I loss the rest after surgery. February 23, 2015. Surgery Date.

My starting weight was 342 lbs, and I'm 1 month post op and down 21 lbs. I've been bouncing from 321-322 for a little over 2 weeks. How exactly did you break your stall? Like you I haven't been under 300 lbs in years. I would love to see 299, but first I got to get out the 320s...lol. Advice would be appreciated.

Hi! Thanks for the reply! The way I got out of my stall was up my Protein and eat a little more. I know we may not have an appetite, but not eating is not going to help us lose weight. Get moving! I had to increase my exercise. Nothing crazy, walking in place, lifting light weights or use an exercise band. Also getting your Water in is a plus! These are just some things I did that helped me. It is a struggle everyday but its getting better. Stay motivated and think about how you will feel when you go to step on that scale and see 2??! Hard work pays off!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
