Hey all I'm just wondering if anyone can eat more after exercise. I seem to be able to eat more after exercise but less when I dont. Is that normal ?

It is normal to be hungrier post exercise. Try having a Protein shake or something high in Protein (deli turkey, tuna, hard boiled eggs etc) soon after a workout (typically within 30-45 min). This will help repair and maintain your muscles, and will help curb your appetite a bit.

Best of luck and great job with the exercising!! :D

Completely normal. I always make sure to have Protein before and after a workout. This fuels my body so I burn fat not muscle. Typically pre-workout I make a protein smoothie. Afterwards is usually a light snack of almonds, a bit of cheese, or another smaller, Protein Shake.< /p>

Definitely aim for high Protein when eating after exercise. I too am usually able to eat a bit more post-workout than other times of day. That's why I always workout before dinner, since that tends to be my largest and highest protein "meal" of the day. It also might do you some good to eat a small amount of carbs BEFORE a workout. My afternoon snack is usually greek yogurt with a little granola or kashi Cereal mixed in. That's the only time I eat any real carbs and I find it helps fuel me through my workout a little better.

It was normal for me. I had to quit exercising as hard or else I would eat too much.

I am hungry after exercise, but typically can not eat very much at all after working out. I think its because I drink while working out.

I cannot drink while working out. The only time I drink is if I take dance class.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
