Let's talk about EXERCISE!

Recommended Posts

@@KalelsWifey yes, be sure to check out the On-Demand when you get a chance. I did a Julian Michaels workout this morning. Last night, some yoga with Rodney Yee, it was awesome. They have all of the big names trainers as well. Sounds you are excited and ready to GO. Thanks to everyone's responses we all will have a BIG variety to choose from...

@@KalelsWifey Hi there. I enjoy exercising especially cardio. It is just I had limited time to go to the gym as much as I use to so I put on the extra pounds and medical issues were next. I ordered an elipitical/exericse bike and like that but my knees don't, lol. Shortly I discovered that there was a fitness catagory on my Xfinity on-demand channel with all types of fitness videos. Strength training, pilates, yoga, everything...

My very favorites are the speed WALKING videos. They are WONDERFUL. You can chose to walk 1 mile, 2miles or 3 all in your home. They are all cardio packed with weights or without. The 1-mile is 18 minutes, 2miles is 34 minutes, 3 miles 53 minutes. Super fast power walking... There are so many catagories of walking/jogging/strength training videos you can do in your home when you are pressed for time or don't want to leave the house. Easy moves so you can focus on working hard in getting it done. Trust me, I feel the workout just as much. I usually wake up half hour or 45 minutes early and turn one on get my cardio done, shower and then wake up my children. I have decided that I need to come first with my health and this is my time to myself with no interruption. When I get up early and exercise, no one is awake I can focus on myself. This way, I am done with the workout and not have to stress all day about how I will fit it in when I get home & exhausted.

I have also seen these videos dirt cheap on Amazon. Let me know & I will give you the name of some good ones :-)

Thank you so much! To be honest I hadn't even thought about looking at on demand!! What a great idea. I too can do that before my girls wake up and have my first work out in. I try to do two walks a day mixed with typical errands running up and down stairs in my house. I average a good amount of steps per day. I like this idea a lot though. I will be looking at then tonight.

Personally started with walking and then slowly moved up to jogging and now I run. I also lift weights but not as often as I should. I run daily now something that I never did/could do before. Find what works for you. And I suggest a Fitbit flex or the like something Water resistant that helps you track and hold yourself accountable! Best of luck!

Hooray!! I've been lifted off all restrictions from exercise. I just have to go light on core muscles. I'm very happy. It has given me a. Boost I needed to light the fire under my...! Today's routine will be, morning walk with my mommy's day walking weights , afternoon jog, light weights to tone my arms, stairs and perhaps opening the pool... (does that count, lol)?! Talk to me people, what have you been up to. It's a beautiful day, let's get outside and get motivated!! X's!!

K.W. How many weeks post surgery are you? I am just one week away from being allowed to get back in the swimming pool, but otherwise walking until my restrictions get lifted. After that will add in treadmill and hopefully by mid summer will be back on my ten speed. This "no lifting" requirement is keeping me from gardening -- I have a huge vegetable garden and orchard that is languishing from neglect. Glad you are allowed back to heavier exercise -- good weight loss, too!

At first I re-joined my gym and started go to cycle classes. I was 320lbs at that time. Cycling was the best on my joints. Then, I started losing weight so I started running. Now I run all kinds of races. Just completed a 10K a few weekends ago. I also make sure that I strength train at least 2 days a week, to build muscle. Finding something you enjoy is key, because you'll be happy to exercise. Also, make it interesting with music or movies on your phone or iPad. Good Luck!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
