Do you feel full? i felt full even on liquids after my surgery. I am in my 11th month and i still get a full feeling when drinking Protein Shakes. I know not everyone is the same but i i would think you feel kinda full?

I really don't feel full, at least not the way I used to. Maybe that's why I don't recognize it.

it is hard to tell at first when you're full. and it is better to stop than to over eat.my surgeon suggested i do what was called the 3 bite method - after i started eating of course - but you take a bite and chew it until it is liquid before you swallow then repeat that until you get 3 bites in - then wait 5 minutes before you eat another bite. If you are still hungry eat another bite in the same manner and wait 5 minutes in between each bite until you are satisfied. He tld me to eat until satisfied not "full" - i didn't realize what he meant until after i had the surgery and was getting satisfied on far less food than before. It doesn' seem like much food but if you are eating 5-6 small meals a day then you should be fine. now during the liquids part i just drank as much as i could at a time. I was able to drink my shakes with no problems once i got on that part of my liquid diet - as long as i took it nice and slow. My stomach makes all kinds of strange noises and sometimes very loud and in the most public of places...lol...it is normal i'm pretty sure!! i hope some of this helps.

How far out are you from surgery. For me, for the first two weeks or so, I had a LOT of gurgling with every single sip of anything. It was due to the swelling, I think and once I was more healed up, it went away.

My surgery was two weeks ago tomorrow. It just seems hard to tell only being on liquids. It helps to hear I'm not the only one. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
