Carlya54 7 Posted May 4, 2015 What tea is it that people use for Constipation? I have tried everything else and the magnesium citrate is too horrible for me to drink.
Luvin_Life125 558 Posted May 4, 2015 Smooth Move tea! You can find it at Walgreens near the laxatives. You can probably find it at other stores too. It works great and doesn't give me the crampy, gassy side effects other laxatives do.
Zoey716 98 Posted May 4, 2015 I use benefiber and it seems to work great. I take it once or twice a day (depending on how I feel). I add it to my Protein shakes, coffee, or just Water. You can mix it into yogurt or even apple sauce. I can't tell its in anything. Can't taste it and it completely dissolved. Give it a whirl!
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted May 4, 2015 I use Miralax powder in my beverages and shakes.< /p>

hb.mambo 17 Posted May 7, 2015 Don't forget milk of magnesia either- that works great, and it's pretty gentle.
MissLiss 71 Posted May 7, 2015 I am in the same boat and I plan to get suppositories on my way home. I wish I could go now. I have to go #2 so badly that #1 takes a back seat so neither is getting done. Smooth Move tea is supposed to be good and Chamomile I heard. I will also be picking up miralax or benefiber- I drink plenty of Water but I guess that is not always enough. I hope you find comfort soon.
Soma 1 Posted May 7, 2015 No need to use anything but 3 dried prunes (pitted) softened in a mug of boiled water... Quick Blend it and next morning you are good to go. Drink this every night before going to bed...
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted May 7, 2015 Miralax is not supposed to be used long term. I have found Metaumucil works really well. I drink it 2x per day mixed with Crystal Light. You have to drink it fast. I don't think it tastes bad, but it gets thick. It adds bulk to the stool and it's the only thing that's really okay to use long term. I've been dealing with Constipation issues for years now since I was banded in 06.
MissLiss 71 Posted May 7, 2015 Thank you- I noticed that about Miralax and I wasn't sure what to get so I didn't get anything. Well except the suppositories. I will definitely be adding Fiber because I am not a fan of body functions that make me feel like I need to see a therapist about All I can say is I survived. wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted May 7, 2015 the pain meds made me so constipated I thought I was going to have to go to the ER to remove the blockage. Holy Moly it was soooo painful. I used Miralax, and stopped the painmeds, and was normal the following day (after I finally purged myself of the "blockage".....OWIEEEEE!!) Good luck. muffin70043 1 Posted June 1, 2015 Magnesium supplement works for me. I am 5 months post op sleeve and was very constipated. My nutritionist said the high doses of Calcium required after surgery is making me constipated and the magnesium will help ease this problem. Well, she was right, solved that problem! I take 1 capsule Magnesium every night before bedtime.
