Mine is to the right of my belly button (looking down on it). Many people have it between their belly button and breast bone. Some people have it near their armpit! It's usually in the location of the incision that hurts the most after surgery.

I had the original Lap-Band port when I first had Lap-Band surgery in 2003. Once my weight came off, it looked like I had a periscope poking out of my tummy. I had the original Lap-Band port replaced with a low profile Lap-Band port which sits under my stomach muscle. It's not protruding from my belly any longer, but at times it sure does takes my surgeon or Bariatric nurse time to find the port.

My port was placed about 2 inches below my sternum... About 3 1/2 inches above my belly button. Centered. And I sure can see and feel it. I adore it and most always she returns the adulation... Like some of us (ok, me) she can be a real bitch when irritated!
