This is normal. They should have given you some meds for nausea. A heating pad may also help. Definitely make sure you are still getting up and walking. If you are having trouble keeping fluids, you may need to contact your surgeon. You don't want to have to be readmitted for dehydration.

Im really sorry to hear. I was able to lay down most of the day/night. I'd get up to go to the bathroom, drink, and then head back to sleep. This morning I was able to eat my second meal since surgery from the 30th. You gotta walk. I went walking yesterday three times since coming home at 2pm. This AM gonna watch my kiddo play soccer, so headed to the park. Gotta move and get that gas out.

You sound exactly like me. It's normal. My nausea lasted two days after my surgery. I was so nauseated day two that I threw up three times. I'm now almost two weeks out and feel normal again. You can do this. I promise it will pass even though it doesn't feel that way right now. Just take it an hour at a time and rest. Try not to get dehydrated.

I also had left shoulder gas pain that began on day three and lasted until day six. That was my worst pain.

In a lot of pain I'm off pain meds since I can't keep them down. I'm barely getting 22 ounces of liquid a day I'm getting 8 ounces of Protein. I feel that each day comes improvement though

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
