Who's coming up on their 2 year anniversary? How has it been?

How has it been each your 2 year mark? I had my surgery 08/2013 and I've been going too much snacking on the wrong things...like sugary drinks and eating chips.

I'm not quite two years - September 20th. My loss has been slow compared to many others. In fact I stalled for 6 months or so. During that time I was exercising and eating fine. An occasional wrong thing or two, but nothing that should have stalled me that bad.

This past January, I decided to stop weighing myself. I used to weigh every Friday morning. I went for a check up in early February and found I had lost 3 lbs. I went back in mid April and found out I lost another 5 lbs. Went back yesterday and lost another pound. This losing is happening without being in the gym on a normal basis. I still eat the wrong thing or two and promptly pay for it, but the losing has gotten me excited again.

I'm about 30 lbs away from goal and I'd like to reach it by my 2nd surgiversary. My new "Reward" is a trip to visit family and go clothes shopping with my Step Mom.

Have you reached goal? Are you close to it and getting frustrated? Does your body react badly to the "cheats"? Can you get yourself back on track? It is possible to slide backwards - think about that the next time you're reaching for something you really shouldn't have. I understand it's a constant struggle to turn off the voice in your head that says "Go ahead! You've worked very hard! You can have one"..... Sometimes, you just have to tell that jerk to go away. :)

June 8, 2015 made two years post surgery. It's been a long and bumpy journey and I've been through some stressful and heartwrenching tragedies in the past couple of years such as my grandmother's passing a few weeks after my surgery, my sister's death this year along with a custody battle for her children with her ex-husband. Enough about that though. Old habits die hard and I've managed to gain a bit over the past year and am now trying to get back on the bandwagon. I'm not happy with the way things are at the moment but I know I'm the only one that can change that. I'm still having problems with Protein intake as well as Fluid intake. I didn't realize how bad off I was until I went in for a physical and did a urinalysis that pretty much showed just how dehydrated I have really been. This has really given me a reality check and I'm now trying to change and remain focused on my health in hopes of living a longer and healthier life.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
