I've been wondering if there are people who have lost a significant amount of weight but skin stayed taut. If so, how much did you lose and what do you think aided in your saglessness?

My tummy, hips and back are not saggy.

My thighs and arms are.

I did not use lotions, creams, potions. I did do a lot of exercising before surgery and after -- cardio mostly -- but I believe it's all about age, genetics, how much you weighed, how long one was obese and luck.

My saggy parts are my stomach, my butt, and a tiny bit of saggy skin on my upper inner thighs. The thigh skin looks the weirdest because the rest of my legs are super fit and defined. Everything else is holding up ok.

I am 43 and so far have lost 120 pounds and want to lose 11 more.

I have been exercising faithfully and have used every lotion and oil combination ( hasn't helped).

I think a lot has to do with age and genetics. I am only 10 months and as soon as the weather warms my pool up I am going to swim laps everyday so I am hoping that will help.

Good luck to you!

@@glitter eyes wow congrats to you on that weight gone. I'm 50. My legs aren't terrible. My belly is going to be saggy, no question. My arms, the part I would love most to be sexy, are flapping all around. My face has drooped.

Ah well. Still feel lots better.

There will be some extra skin, it takes 2 years after you have stopped losing for the elasticity of your skin to "snap back" as much as it can. As others have said exercise exercise exercise! But make sure you do weight training as well so your muscles can fill some of the void that the fat used to fill! That will help, eat high Protein foods, foods with the Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids in them and hydrate. This will help with the sag. But by no means is this a cure all like the others said genetics and age have a lot to do with it as well and how long you had your skin stretched out b/c of being over weight. I have lost a total of 140lbs from my HW and have some loose skin in my belly and have small bat wings but I am only 6 months out and I lift weights 3x a week and do physical stuff all day. I do notice my muscle tone more now than ever before.

Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
