Dlooker 1 Posted April 30, 2015 I was just recently sleeved, had some pain my first two days many gas I think. I did a lot of moving and walking and by day 3 (today) all gas pains are gone! Now the only pain I'm having is in my stomach almost like I've done 900000 sit ups haha! Any advise to help with the soreness? I also had a hernia repair and feel like that might be where most of the discomfort comes from? Any thought?
Zachnchrissy 9 Posted April 30, 2015 I had my sleeve in the 27th. I'm experiencing pain in my chest that comes and goes. Scares me but I heard it was gas. How many incisions did you get
TammyDTM 391 Posted April 30, 2015 I also had a hernia repair and had that "just done a bunch of sit-ups" feeling. I kinda liked it. I imagined my stomach on its way to getting toned.
judyoz 240 Posted April 30, 2015 HI, I was sleeved on 27th as well. I did not have any pain at all, I am a lucky one I guess. I would just use tylenol, great for inflamation and mild/moderate pain. Just make sure they are the smaller pills.
judyoz 240 Posted April 30, 2015 Forgot to add, I had hernia repair as well.
Dlooker 1 Posted April 30, 2015 I have four incisions, yea my chest has been pretty tight, uncomfortable to take deep breaths but I feel it's loosing it up everyday!
momfromjersey22 403 Posted April 30, 2015 Make sure you use your spirometer. It definitely helps with the chest pain.
judyoz 240 Posted May 1, 2015 How are you doing today Dlooker, I am doing great. I actually want to eat something. So sick of Protein shakes. I was hoping I could eat some strained Cream of Mushroom Healthy request Soup, but doc say no.
Dlooker 1 Posted May 1, 2015 I'm doing much better pain is practically gone, I have found my self wanting real food but I'm not sure if it's my body or my minds sending me hunger feeling! The amount and can drink at a time has practically doubled from day one to now (day 4). Have you experienced any changes in the mount you can drink?
judyoz 240 Posted May 1, 2015 I can drink more and more each day. I am up to almost up to the 60 gr Protein, I was instructed to have. But I want food and I am on a very strict clear/full liquid diet. I can only have broth, Water, shakes, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello and that is it. What can you have? Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Dlooker 1 Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) I had the same Protein instructions as far as liquids any liquid doesn't matter if it's clear or not. My Dr was big on electrolytes so bought some pow erase drops with electrolytes in it and I just shoot a little bit in to my Water.< /p> And I meant ask what brand shakes have you been drinking? Zachnchrissy 9 Posted May 2, 2015 I had the same diet instructions as well with nothing but clear liquids...not even my shakes. I'm day 4 today and I went against Dr orders and had a Premier Protein shake. I feel so much better

elladvyne 14 Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) I was sleeved 4/27 too. With a hernia repair. I had edema from the hernia repair so I couldn't drink anything more than 5cc St a time and that still gave me gas. Then I had low blood sugar so they allowed me to drink full sugar apple juice and Jello (no dumping). Today I drank 2 ounces of Protein shake (too much) so I'm scaling back to make that my goal for today. I'm so happy to be drinking protein! For the pain, I try to ignore it. The pain Meds they gave me in the hospital were too strong and didn't agree with me. They made me nauseated and vomit. I use a heating pad or Tylenol for pain first, then go stronger if I need to.
