Just an FYI to all you folks out there:

Isopure powder does not taste the same as the premade bottles. They add other Vitamins and "magic goo" and it makes it creamy and IMO nasty.

I LOVE the apple melon Isopure zero carb. I make Jello from it, freeze it for ice cubes to add to Water, drink it straight...whatever. I thought Id save some money and buy the bulk powder, but it was a bust.

I've used Isopure (powder) everyday since the day out of surgery. It has helped me lose 130 pounds and I love it. I've heard others gripe about the taste, but it tastes better to me than the many others I tried. Not many other Protein drinks can give you 50 grams of Protein in 12 ounces. Because of this, I've never had a day when I didn't get in at least 80-100 grams of protein. The extra Vitamins and minerals give me energy and make me feel healthy.

The unflavored Isopure powder doesn't which is the only one I use. It's 100% whey isolate. No carbs, no sugars. It's perfect for adding to Soups and other savory items without a bunch of artificial dyes or sugars.

Can you get TOO MUCH protein?

@@LousPeachy - It is possible, but again it takes extremely high amounts. Up to 100gms is still within the safe zone. However this is one of the reasons to get regular bloodwork done. If it is too much it can effect your kidney's. This is why it is important t try and eat as balance a diet as possible.

I sip on my Isopure shake over the course two hours. The body can metabolize 25 Protein grams per hour. I don't think 100 grams of protein per day is too much. The daily requirement post op is usually anywhere between 65 and 100.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
