I'm post op, 9 years out from RNY Gastric Bypass surgery. Maintaining pretty well. My husband and I had surgery on the same day. April 26, 2006. I believe our choice to have this surgery saved our lives. We have our daily struggles but nothing like we battled pre surgery. My highest weight was close to 300 lbs. I was 281 lbs the day of surgery. My lowest weight was 140. But I'm happy floating around 160-170.

We both had skin removal surgery after a year and a half. post-252920-14302416653823_thumb.jpg post-252920-14302416910749_thumb.jpg post-252920-14302417523088_thumb.jpg post-252920-14302417782951_thumb.jpg post-252920-14302418018465_thumb.jpg

Great to see people years out and see how they are doing. Great pics too. Congrats or both your successes.

What's your daily struggle? I'm only 6 week, bypass. And I'm struggling with food and dumping even the smallest food or Water at times. Would this be a life long struggle? Would love to hear from you.

A lot of the early on struggles get easier. At least for us they did. I got sick quite a bit at the beginning. Had to be very careful with sugar content and especially certain meats. I still don't tolerate steak well unless it's a little rarer. Pork is really tough on me. But add foods slowly in small amounts. If it doesn't work at first, take note of it and don't try it again for 4 to 6 months. I don't really feel like my life with food is a struggle. It's pretty normal now just in small quantity. Still share meals with my husband when we go out. I swear it does get better.
