Sounds like you're doing everything right. My weight loss would be exactly the same as you if I hadn't had a week of reflux when I couldn't eat at all. Also my NUT says if you lose too fast you run the risk of losing muscle mass, which makes it easier to put back on. So well done!

Yea that makes sense, thanks :) I have been able to do some lifting at the gym so maybe it is the muscle. I'm trying to avoid loose skin any way I can

Hi all, Just checking in to say how I am doing and that is to say not that well. I actually had gained back 10 pounds in the last month and a half. Then today I weighed myself and discovered that I had again lost that 10 pounds so now I am back at 271 pounds and not to happy about it. but I also look at it this way at least I am back to the weight I was back on May 30th.

That's awesome guys! Good job! My weight loss has been kind of slow :/ this morning I was at 236. Down 32 lbs. I exercise 3 days a week. Get about 900 calories a day. Hope I'm doing everything right :(

I was told when I was eating at that level I wasnt eating enough and my body would go into conservation mode. Check with your NUT to see if thats the case for you. If not, then slow and steady does win the race!! Congrats all..

OK 5/19ers, anyone up for a new challenge? I want to run a 5k race nd I'ld like all of you to join me.. I'm going to use the C25k app and training program starting in august and should be ready to go by 8 weeks. We all need a challenge, we are facing the mental challenge and emotional challenge, now lets take on the physical..

Seems crazy to me to suggest it, but there you go. There is a rock N Roll 5k being held in Las Vegas in early november and by that time we could all be ready to run it and actually complete it.

Its a whole weekend of nutrition info and workout gear and even some sessions as I understand it. PLus, Its Vegas!!.. That will put us all 6 mo. post op, a milestone by my reckoning and a reason to Celebrate.< /p>

Anyone interested in participating? Even better, is anyone living in vegas who might want to put up with all of us? Regardless, rooms are cheap and we certainly wont be spending the big money on the buffets!!

Anyone interested??

On a separate note I am on such a major stall it's driving me crazy. No weight lost for 10 days now. How the heck can this be?! I eat like a bird????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
